Wednesday December 5, 2007
SAU 28

Present were School Board members Al Letizio, Beth Valentine, Bev Donovan, Bruce Anderson and Barbara Coish.
Building Committee members present were Rick Horrigan, Laura Bellavia, Jan Moynihan-Cooney.
Lavalle Brensinger present – Lance Whitehead, Chris Kane, Jenn Vellieux.
Harvey Construction present - Anne Dodd.
Owner’s Representative present- Glenn Davis.

Chairman Letizio opened the meeting at 7:04pm.
Glenn Davis explained the purpose of the meeting, which was to have a final pass on the colors for the interior. He also stated that two examples of chairs for the auditorium were displayed as examples and one more example was to be delivered.

The group viewed the color palates for the Classroom wings, Arts wing, Athletic wing, Cafeteria and Auditorium.
2F and 3F – Science wing- 3F change wainscoting so as not so dark near dark floor
1C (warm), 2C (warmest), 5C fun scheme – cooler
Arts wing around the auditorium – richer colors, wood tone wainscoting, exciting corridors.
Door colors the same throughout.
Auditorium- background- blue/gray (not fruity colors)
Clouds are one shade lighter. Fabric wrapped acoustic tiles. Warm carpet. Cork look wall protection. Railings maple veneer.
A request was made for information on the fabric for the seating-exact material and thread count. The chosen print will hide possible stains and is stain resistant. The curtain fabric is black and the main curtain is dark navy blue.
Bruce questioned the carpet. Is it too brown? After a closer look Bruce decide the carpet was fine.
Bev Donovan moved, Beth Valentine second to accept the auditorium as presented. Approved 5-0.
The group looked at the Athletic wing and decided to wait for exact colors before proceeding to vote. Anne can bring an example of the bleachers and she knows the necessary information on the height of the bleachers.
The Cafeteria is the anchor of the main spine. The kitchen has red quarry tile. It has warm colors, earth tones and wainscoting between the windows. There was much discussion on the colors especially the spring green color for the ceiling and posts.
After much discussion the decision was made to paint the ceiling white and to leave the posts the spring green color. There was discussion about the flooring. Changing the striping was considered. It was decided to leave the floor as presented brown and gold stripes.
The main spine was discussed. It is all white with red accents with windows and the display case. There was a question on the tile, which had previously been decided upon for the entrance. Another tile had been brought to the attention of Harvey. However in the end the School Board decided to stay with the previously selected tile, which may eventually be installed a lower price than expected.

The meeting adjourned at 8:55pm.
