Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Big Brothers/Big Sisters mission for over 25 years has been to support one on one mentoring relationships.Children ages 6 and up who are in need of a positive role model, are matched with a high school student.The pair meet once a week at either the Derry or Salem Boys & Girls Club (to be determined by the student) and spend an hour or two building upon their mentoring relationship.This is a 1year commitment open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

JP Kids & Company

JP Kids is the perfect after school program for those students who enjoy an environment of laughter and smiles. JP Kids is a childcare program in Windham that serves children six weeks to twelve years old (no Kindergarten programs). The students will volunteer their time playing with the children; whether they’re playing games, creating projects or reading stories together-they’re sharing their time together and making a difference. Students must schedule times ahead of time with the Program Director if interested in volunteering, school is open from 3:00-6:00 pm.


Salem Boys & Girls Club

The Salem Boys & Girls Club has many programs within the Club for students to volunteer: Sports, Fitness & Recreation, The Arts, Health & Life Skills and Education.The after school program is open from 3:00-6:30 pm, peak volunteer times are 3:30-5:30 pm. If interested in volunteering, an application will need to be filled out and a meeting with the Program Director 

is required prior to volunteering.


Sonshine Soup Kitchen

Derry NH (2 Crystal Ave) serves meals once a day from 4:30-5:30 pm, to those in need.Students will be asked to help with the preparation, serving and clean up of the meal. Hours that are necessary for this project are from 3:00-6:00 pm. There will be an adult chaperon from Windham High School at the Kitchen along with the students.


Nesmith Library

Windham NH has opportunities for students to volunteer in the Children’s section of the library.Volunteers are needed as ‘shelvers’ to place the books back on the shelves.

There is at least a one-day a week; six-month commitment and students are 

required to be sixteen years of age.If interested, a volunteer application will need to be completed prior to acceptance as a volunteer.


Windham Terrace Assisted Living

Students interested in volunteering on Wednesday afternoons from 3:00-4:30 pm
and enjoy engaging in crafts, conversation and various activities are sure to
enjoy spending time with the residents at Windham Terrace.
