Windham School Board Hires New
Principal for New Windham High School



Dr. Frank Bass, Superintendent for the Windham School District is pleased to announce that Mr. Richard Manley has been appointed by the Windham School Board to be the new principal for the Windham High School, a brand new facility opening in the fall 2009.

Mr. Manley resides in Hollis, NH and is the current principal at North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, MA, a position that he has held for the last two years. Prior to appointment at North Middlesex, Mr. Manley served as the Assistant Principal at Hollis Brookline High School in Hollis, NH from 2001-2006 and as a Social Studies teacher from 1983-2001.

A life long learner, Mr. Manley has accrued many degrees including, a Master of Arts in History  from Northeastern University, a Certificate in Spanish from the University of  Mass,  a CAGS (Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies) from Rivier College and a JD (Juris Prudence) from Suffolk University Law School.

Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Manley was a Fulbright Scholar where he studied in India and has recently been selected to participate in a principal shadowing program in China. He is also a recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) where he studied Russian history at Harvard University.  Mr. Manley has traveled extensively in Europe, including the Soviet Union where he studied alternative education programs.

Although Mr. Manley no longer practices law, he is still a member of the NH Bar Association and as such, has been a great promoter of such high school programs as Mock Trial, Granite State Challenge and We the People.
