|
Richard Manley, Principal |
Rich Manley has served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Prior to coming to Windham, Mr. Manley was principal of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, Massachusetts from 2006-2008. He was assistant principal of Hollis/Brookline High School from 2001-2006, having been appointed to this position after serving as a social studies teacher in Hollis.
Mr. Manley holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Leadership and Learning from Rivier College, a certificate of Spanish from the University of Massachusetts, a law degree from Suffolk University Law School, a Master of Arts degree from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Salem State College. He is currently engaged in doctoral studies in educational administration at Rivier College. He is a member of the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators’ Association, the New Hampshire School Principals’ Association, and the New Hampshire Bar Association. Mr. Manley has traveled extensively, including academic study of Soviet education systems, a Fulbright Exchange to India and, most recently, participation in the United States/China Exchange Initiative as a member of a principal-shadowing project to China.
Mr. Manley resides in Hollis, NH with his wife Rita and their two children.

| Tom Murphy, Assistant Principal |
| Tom Murphy is coming to Windham High School after serving the students of Billerica Memorial High School for the past 16 years. He holds an undergraduate degree in History as well as a M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts and a M.A. from Simmons College. He has been the Assistant Principal at BMHS for the past three years. During that time, Mr. Murphy has conducted professional development presentations on Differentiated Instruction and Professional Learning Communities. In the classroom he oversaw a very successful Advanced Placement program and worked with the College Board as a Reader for the A.P. US History exam. While a teacher, he coached the girls’ basketball and softball teams. He enjoys skiing and golfing with his family. |
| Donna Straight, Special Services Administrator |
| Donna Straight holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a Master of Education in both special education and school administration from Rivier College, Nashua. She is currently enrolled in a Doctoral program with an emphasis in Leadership and Learning. Ms. Straight has 14 years experience including having served three years as the Assistant Principal of Special Services for a large secondary school. During her free time, Ms. Straight enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, reading, traveling and gardening. |
Mr. Bill Raycraft, Athletic Administrator |
Bill Raycraft brings to Windham High School ten years of athletic administration experience. He started his coaching career 18 years ago and since that time has coached several sports at multiple levels. Knowing that athletics was a passion for him, he began his collegiate education at St. Thomas University, Miami, Florida, studying Athletic Administration. He was able to gain practical knowledge interning within the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Orioles spring training organization and with both NBC and CBS in televised sporting events. From there he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College in 1992, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Teaching Certification from Plymouth State University in 1998. He recently received his certification in the Mentor in Violence Prevention (MVP) program from Northeastern University Sport in Society. Mr. Raycraft will coach our sub-varsity football team.

Ms. Lisa Roeder, Dean of Humanities |
Lisa Roeder resides in Durham, NH and is certified by the state of New Hampshire in the areas of English, Latin, and principalship. She holds an undergraduate degree in Greek and Latin and a Master of Arts in Teaching Latin and Greek. She studied the classics in Rome, Italy. Mrs. Roeder has taught English and Latin for twenty years in public, private and parochial high schools throughout the state. She is currently enrolled in the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study Program at UNH, focusing on educational policy and leadership.

Ms. Karen Sayward, Dean of Fine Arts |
Karen Sayward of Windham, NH earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Performance from the University of Massachusetts. She holds additional certifications in Orff Studies and in Educational Administration from the University of New Hampshire. She has completed extensive coursework in choral conducting and vocal jazz studies at Villanova University and the Manhattan School of Music, and is presently enrolled in the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies program in Leadership and Learning at Rivier College. As a freelance keyboardist, she has performed professionally at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH and North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA. Karen has 28 years of classroom experience in music K-12, having taught in Haverhill and Andover, MA, as well as the Somersworth, Hollis-Brookline, and Timberlane Regional School Districts.

Ms. Mary Anderson, Dean of Mathematics & Science

| Mary Anderson comes to Windham from Londonderry High School with a bachelor of science degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA and a masters of science degree from National Technological University in Fort Collins, CO. She has eight years teaching experience at Londonderry High School and 16 years engineering experience with AT&T/Lucent. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her family, figure skating, tennis, and boating.

Mr. Paul Bencal, Head of Technology |
Paul Bencal comes to Windham as an Information Technology and Business teacher from Alvirne High School and Southern New Hampshire University. He holds a Master of Science degree in Business Education specializing in Information Technology Instruction and has a strong background in instructional design, distance education, and educational technology. He resides in Londonderry, NH with his family and is thrilled to begin this exciting journey with all incoming students as they embrace the extraordinary technological resources Windham High School has to offer.

Ms. Kellie Steward, Dean of Students |
Kellie Steward has worked as a high school guidance counselor for the past eight years. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire with a major in psychology and a minor in English, and her Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Notre Dame College. Mrs. Steward has had the opportunity to work in high schools in different regions across New Hampshire and is very knowledgeable about the various curricula, schedule configurations, educational theories and instructional strategies that are cited as “best practices” today, and she brings this experience and knowledge to Windham High School.

Ms. Kathleen Kirwin, Library-Media Specialist
|
Kathleen Kirwin is a resident of Manchester, NH and she received her undergraduate degree in Humanities from Bradford College in Massachusetts. Her graduate training in Library and Information Science was completed at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She continues to participate in professional development opportunities including graduate level course work in educational practices. Ms. Kirwin enjoys working with both traditional and digital information resources and is experienced with both the Mac and PC computer environments. She brings more than ten years experience to her role as librarian/media specialist to Windham High School.

English Department
| Loren Dow will be coming from R.W. Traip Academy in Kittery, ME. Loren holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Maine and has been teaching for five years. She will complete her master's degree in Reading and Language in May. Ms. Dow will coach our field hockey team and she is also a high school girls’ lacrosse official. She enjoys traveling and has participated in a teacher exchange program where she taught in Australia for two months. |
| George Kendall joins us from Concord-Carlisle High School. He has seven years of experience and a master’s degree from the University of Birmingham, England. Mr. Kendall will coach girls’ soccer, and also direct our plays. |
| Ryan O’Connor has six years experience and comes to us from Londonderry, NH. Ryan holds a master’s degree in Reading Instruction from Rivier College and will also be our Reading Specialist. Mr. O’Connor will be coaching indoor and outdoor track. Mr. O’Connor attended the College of the Holy Cross for undergraduate work and was also a member of the track and field team. Ryan also coaches women’s volleyball at Southern New Hampshire University. |
| Jennifer Partridge has a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and has been teaching for six years. She comes to Windham from DuVal High School in Lanham, MD. Previous to teaching at DuVal, she worked for the National Archives and Records Administration editing presidential documents and processing laws. |
Laura Saxe was born and raised in Duluth, MN and moved to New Hampshire to attend the University of New Hampshire. There, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English teaching and a minor in education. During her studies, she had the opportunity to travel around the world on the Semester at Sea program. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she completed coursework and an extensive internship program to earn a M.Ed. in secondary education. For the past five years, Ms. Saxe taught English at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. When she is not in the classroom, Ms. Saxe participates in a variety of athletic activities including: triathlon training, running, Bikram Yoga, and aerobics classes. She also enjoys reading historic nonfiction and traveling whenever there is an opportunity.

Fine Arts Department
| Jared Cassedy (Music) will come to Windham High from
Windham Middle School. He brings four years of teaching experience.
Jared has a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of New
Hampshire. He is also the conductor of the Windham Community Band,
which is open to residents of Windham and surrounding towns. Jared
will be starting graduate school this fall at Plymouth State University
studying instrumental music education. |
| Hannah Cole (Art) Hannah has a master’s degree from the University of
New Hampshire, and seven years of experience. She will be coming to
Windham High from Salem High School. She is an avid painter and
travels whenever she has the opportunity. |
| Kay Shoubash (FACS) comes to us from Bow High School in Bow, NH with ten years of experience and is working toward her master’s degree at the University of New Hampshire. |
Guidance Department
| Christi Dunn received a master of education degree from the University of New Hampshire, a master of arts degree from Lehigh University and a bachelor of arts degree from Lehigh University. She has worked as a high school English teacher for the past eight years and comes to us from Pinkerton Academy. |
Mathematics Department
| Julie Hartmann of Windham, NH joins us from Nashoba Valley Technical High School after eleven years of teaching in both New York and Massachusetts. She holds a master’s degree from Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY. Outside of school, Ms. Hartmann enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and running marathons. |
| Kristin Miller of Windham, NH earned her Bachelor of Mathematics Education from the University of New Hampshire and has continued her graduate work there. She comes to us from Masconomet Regional High School with ten years of teaching experience. She is excited to contribute her skills, experience, and love of mathematics to the WHS community. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her family doing outdoor activities. |
| Armando Segura will move to Windham from Salem High School. He has seven years of experience. Armando holds a master’s degree in mathematics from Harvard University, and an MBA with an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Finance from Southern New Hampshire University. Mr. Segura has coached tennis and skiing in the three specialties of alpine, cross-country and jumping, and also collaborated with the organization of the ski and snowboard club at Nashua High School. |
Science Department
Bethany Bernasconi will be joining us from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in Massachusetts. Bethany has six years of teaching experience and a master’s degree from Boston University. She spent a year conducting research and studying at the Marine Biological Laboratories in Woods Hole, MA and is enthusiastic about bringing that spirit of discovery to her students. She enjoys spending time camping and exploring nature with her family.

| Matt Bryant was born and raised in Massachusetts, but taught most recently at Houston High School in Germantown, TN. Matt holds a master’s degree from Montana State University and has been teaching for eight years. His first teaching job was as a Peace Corps Volunteer working in western Kenya. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, running, and spending time with his wife and pets. Mr. Bryant will be our freshman boys’ soccer coach. |
Mel Christy comes to us from Manchester Central High School with more than twenty years of teaching experience and a master’s degree from Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene, NH.

| Joseph Mancinelli will be a familiar face to the students. He will be coming from Windham Middle School with eight years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Bates College. He will be the sub-varsity girls’ basketball coach. Mr. Mancinelli will also continue his community service group at the high school, which will be called WHS S.M.I.L.E.S. (Spreading Meaningful Irreplaceable Life Experiences Selflessly). Mr. Mancinelli enjoys gardening, golfing, skiing, and spending time with his family. |
Social Studies Department
| Ryan Clark holds a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and previously taught social studies at Souhegan High School in Amherst, NH and Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Westford, MA. Originally from Pelham, NH, he currently lives in Boxborough, MA with his wife and five month-old son. |
| Tom Darrin will come to Windham from Reading Memorial High School. Tom has thirty-five years of experience, graduated from Bowdoin College and holds a master’s degree from Northeastern University. Mr. Darrin will be our wrestling coach. He is a member of the Massachusetts wrestling coaches’ hall of fame. Outside of school he enjoys reading, golf and spending time with his family in Maine. |
| Colleen Hopkins-Smith has a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire, and nine years of experience. She joins us from Dover High School. Colleen loves to travel and taught in Arizona, California, and Hawaii before returning home to New Hampshire. She also loves spending time with her family. |
| Derek Lee has his bachelor’s degree from Keene State and two years of experience at Pinkerton Academy in Derry. Mr. Lee will coach both sub-varsity boys’ basketball and sub-varsity boys’ baseball. |
| Shannan McKenna will be moving up from Windham Middle School. She has been at WMS for three years and has a bachelor’s degree from Duke University in Durham, NC. She enjoys basketball, running, reading, and traveling. |
Special Education Department
Kortney Yasenka, LMHC (Special Needs Counselor) will be moving to Windham High School from her current position at the Center for Life Management, where she is a children’s clinician. Kortney received her master’s degree from Northeastern University and is a licensed mental health counselor. Kortney emphasizes the importance of physical activity in combination with mental health counseling.

| Monica Faucher comes to us from Londonderry. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Farmington, and has six years experience. Monica is originally from Maine and has lived in NH for two years. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, leisure sports, camping, and fishing. |
| Kari Harwood will come to us from the Derry School District. She has five years of experience, and holds a master’s degree from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. |
| Tim Lizotte joins us from Mascoma Valley Regional High School with three years of experience. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education from Roger Williams University. He recently completed his master’s degree in special education at Providence College. He is an active high school baseball umpire, ice hockey referee, and scuba diver. |
Paula Wyka has been a Special Education teacher at Windham Center School for the past three years. She has sixteen years of experience and holds a master’s degree from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. Ms. Wyka enjoys technology, photography and the arts and has integrated the use of all of these into her classroom.

| Kelly Mills (Transition Specialist) joins us from Salem High School, where she is currently the Windham Liaison for special education students. Kelly is a certified special educator who has enjoyed working with students ranging from K-12th grade in various capacities including teaching, evaluating, and administrating. Kelly is working toward her master’s degree at New England College, and has more than twenty years of experience. |
Lauren Koczarski (Speech and Language Pathologist) joins us with a master of science degree in Speech Pathology from the University of New Hampshire and a bachelor of science in Speech and Hearing from Elmira College.

| Judith Kelly (Occupational Therapist) has been providing services for the District for five years. Judi is a Registered Licensed Occupational Therapist with special training in sensory integration. |
| Lauren Ricci (School Psychologist) has been a District psychologist for the past year. Lauren is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) completing her internship at the University of Rhode Island. |
Debra St. Lawrence (ESOL Coordinator – SAU 28) has been a District employee for the past three years and will be part time at Windham High School, as she works for both Pelham and Windham. Deb has a master’s degree from Notre Dame College, and twenty-one years of experience as an ESOL Instructor at Pinkerton Academy.

| Colleen Swierad (Software Support Specialist) moves to Windham High School from Golden Brook School with experience as a computer technical assistant. Technology Department
Clifford Wampler (Applied Materials and Technology) has a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. He has twelve years of experience and will be coming to Windham from Carnage Middle School in Willow Spring, NC.

| Kathy Weise (Technology Integration Specialist) previously worked at SAU16 in Exeter, NH, where she was the Website Coordinator and Technology Integrator and Trainer. Kathy has over twenty years of experience and a master’s degree from Lesley University. She likes to travel and visit friends and family in her camper and enjoys creating stained glass windows in her spare time. |
Wellness and Human Performance Department
| Jill Bartlett (Wellness/Human Performance) holds a master’s degree from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. Her undergraduate degree is from Springfield College. She has six years of experience and comes to Windham from Bedford High School. Ms. Bartlett will coach both girls’ volleyball and girls’ lacrosse. She enjoys a good laugh with friends and family and photography and music. |
| Brian Fillion (Human Performance) has a bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State University, and joins us from John Stark High School in Weare, NH. Brian has ten years of experience to share. |
| Todd Steffanides (Wellness/Human Performance) comes to Windham from Concord with a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire, and ten years of experience. Mr. Steffanides will be coaching sub-varsity boys’ basketball. |
World Language Department
| Sarah Elliott has a master's degree from St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY) and six years of experience. While an undergraduate, she studied at the Universidad de Sevilla in southern Spain. Currently a board member for the New Hampshire Association of World Language Teachers, she joins us from Newmarket High School. |
| Erin Harrison earned her master’s degree at the University of New Hampshire, and has one year of experience at Souhegan High School in Amherst NH. She studied for a semester at the Universidad de Granada in Granada, Spain, and has traveled to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and several regions of Spain. |
| Sharon Hone retired from Windham Middle School last year, but spent this year at WMS as a Literacy Success Tutor. Sharon will join us at Windham High School this year, as a French teacher. Sharon has a bachelor’s degree from Adrian College in Adrian, MI, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH, and more than twenty years of experience. Sharon enjoys many kinds of music and also plays in a hand bell choir. |
| Ammie Long has a bachelor’s degree from Nu Han University in Nu Han, China, and has taught at the Derry Chinese School. Ammie will teach Windham High students Mandarin Chinese. |
School Nurse
Donna Chartrand of Pelham, NH earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of New Hampshire. She has a background in pediatric, critical care and allergy & immunology. She has worked in the Windham, Pelham and Salem school districts for three years working with children of all age groups as a substitute school nurse. Mrs. Chartrand is familiar with both classes of incoming students and is looking forward to providing them continuity of care as they transition to Windham High School.
