8th GRADE NOTICE

Dear 8th Grade Parents,

            One of the eighth grade end of the school year activities is the graduation dance.  The date this year will be Friday, June 6^th from 7 - 10pm.  The dance is just for the members of the WMS eighth grade class of 2008 only.  Over the past several years, in an attempt to make the dance less formal, a practice was established that places some restrictions on what students are allowed to wear.  Boys are requested to wear a jacket, shirt, and tie; tuxedos are not allowed.  Girls should wear a dress appropriate for an 8th grade dance.  We certainly do not encourage formal gowns or dresses that are typically worn to a prom.  The dresses the girls are wearing for graduation pictures may also be worn to the dance.  We appreciate the cooperation of parents.  I would also like to mention that students are not allowed to arrive or depart the dance in a limousine.

            The 8th grade pictures, individual and class, are scheduled for Wednesday, May 14^th in the morning.  Hockmeyer Studios picture announcements notices will be mailed home with more details.

The date for graduation will be Tuesday, June 17^th at 6:30pm on the WMS soccer field.  In the event of inclement weather a rain date has been set for Wednesday, June 18^th, also at 6:30 on the WMS soccer field.

All of the eighth grade end of the year activities, announcements, and graduation information will be posted on our website at Windhamsd.org, for your convenience, in addition to being sent home with the students.
