Physical EducationStudents are exposed to new skills and concepts as well as building upon that which they learned in previous years.
Individual sports: Badminton, Wrestling Ping Pong.
Team Sports: Flag Football, Soccer, Field Hockey, Floor Hockey, Volleyball, Non-contact Lacrosse, Team Handball, Softball.
Lifetime Fitness: Weight Training, Aerobic
Conditioning, Orienteering. Recreational Activities: Square Dance, Waltz, Swing, Bocce, Frisbee, Juggling, Hand-eye Coordination skills.
Miscellaneous Games: Nerfball Games, Field Day Relays, Capture the Flag
NASPE (National Association of Sport and Physical Education) offers us seven standards on which we base our program: A physically educated person:
1.Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
2. Applies movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.
3.Participates regularly in physical activity.
4.Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.
5.Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.
6.Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.

6th gr-Nutrition
7th gr- Goals/Effects of Underage Drinking
8th gr- Fitness Components:
1. Aerobic Endurance
2. Flexibility
3. Muscular Strength/Endurance
4. Body Composition
Understanding these aspects of a healthy life will provide each student with the knowledge and appreciation for the importance of personal choices. These pro-active choices will help to maintain good health and the desire to strive for a level of fitness that will enhance life physically, emotionally, and psychologically
