Staff Q & A
Posted on 06/01/2026

We’re incredibly proud of our amazing staff across the district, many of whom work behind the scenes without the recognition they deserve. This year, we’re changing that! Each week, we’ll be shining a spotlight on one of our dedicated team members. Learn more about our staff and their vital roles in supporting our schools.

What is your role for the 2025–2026 school year?
I am the Center School GAINS Case Manager.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?
As the mother of a child in a Life Skills program (in another district), I have always felt a deep connection to students with similar learning profiles. I love getting to know each student as an individual and taking the time to truly understand how they learn, communicate, and grow. Watching my students make progress, whether academically, socially, or emotionally, is incredibly rewarding! I take great pride not only in their achievements but also in their overall happiness and sense of belonging. My goal is for every student to know they are valued, supported, and an important part of our school community, just like their peers!

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?
My biggest piece of advice is to celebrate and be proud of every accomplishment, no matter how small it may seem. Every step forward is meaningful and worth recognizing. Progress looks different for every child, and growth is not always measured by big milestones. Be patient, trust the process, and remember that some of the most important achievements happen one small step at a time. Never compare your journey to someone else's. Focus on how far you have come and take pride in the progress you make each day!

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?
My favorite hobby is thrifting! I love finding something that someone else no longer wanted and giving it a new life and a new home. There is something exciting about discovering a hidden treasure and knowing it will be appreciated again.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am the Secretary at Golden Brook School.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I started as a classroom and library volunteer at GBS when my son was in kindergarten and quickly transitioned to a full-time paraprofessional role. The positive environment at GBS is like no other. Everyone here inspires me with their genuine love for their jobs and their ability to have fun while maintaining high standards of learning. I enjoy the fast pace and controlled chaos of the front office. It allows me to really get to know all of the students and their families as well.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

We love our volunteers! Get involved and come enjoy these years with your youngest ones; they go by so quickly.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

I absolutely love hiking and being outside. I have completed more than half of the NH 48 4,000-foot mountain list and hope to finish within the next two years (by the time I turn 48).

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

District Data Coordinator and PowerSchool System Administrator

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

The youngest in a family full of engineers, I wanted to be “different”. I graduated from college with a degree in Communications. I worked in sales, human resources, and as a college recruiter. It was the recruiting job that helped me realize that I didn’t like the sales aspect of my job, but I really enjoyed the presentations and helping students get into college. This led me to my first public school district position and my first experience working with PowerSchool. I discovered quickly that I had an aptitude for technology and data… proving that my stubborn teenage self was wrong because I ended up in a technology field anyway!

I enjoy working with data and transforming it from cells in a spreadsheet to a chart or report that is easy for others to understand. I also enjoy teaching others how to use the software more effectively, essentially making their daily lives easier. When my oldest child was moaning about learning algebra, I shared how my job uses algebra all the time. For example, if a principal wants to know how many graduates in the past four years took a math class all four years of high school I would have to pull data from the enrollment table and match it with math grades from the stored grades table to solve for Y. This nugget of wisdom earned me a teenage eye roll and a, “No offense mom, but I don’t want to do your job!” The irony of that comment is that they went on to become an ocean engineer, which included the study of fluid dynamics, which uses not just math but also physics.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

I know it doesn’t always feel this way, but technology is here to make our lives easier! Don’t be afraid to explore it and try new things because you will be surprised at what you can learn just by clicking around.

Also, don’t be afraid to fail. It’s through failing that we learn to grow. Technology, especially when it comes to PowerSchool is changing rapidly. The MyPowerHub has updates every month and sometimes fixing one bug breaks something else. We recognize that it’s frustrating when you just want to log in and check one thing and can’t. Please be patient and realize that every update is made with the parent and student in mind.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

At work, I’m usually in dresses and 3-inch heels, but on the weekends I throw heavy objects!

I just competed in my first Highland Heavy Games competition! After being mistaken for a heavy games competitor while watching my son perform with his pipes and drums band, I set a goal to learn to compete. This past weekend, I competed for the first time. I grew up dancing ballet and never played sports, so this was a humbling, but exhilarating experience for me! Some of the events included the Braemar Stone Throw (think shot put with a rock), the weight over bar (throwing a 21-pound weight 10 plus feet in the air), the sheaf toss (using a pitchfork to throw a bale of hay over the same bar), and the iconic caber toss. The caber toss is my favorite, but the most difficult. The caber can vary in length from 10-16 feet and weigh between 45-85+ pounds for women. The caber is stood upright, and the thrower must crouch down, lifting it using both hands under the bottom of the caber and resting it against their body. They then run forward before tossing the caber into the air so that it turns end over end. The goal is for the caber to land in line as close to the 12 o'clock position as possible.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am a special education teacher and case manager at WHS. I teach a C-level World Literature and Composition course and co-teach this junior course with two amazing English teachers. I’m also a case manager for a wonderful group of juniors and seniors.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

As a child of immigrants, I have observed different experiences people come from, whether traumatic or joyful. When working with students, I recognize that their experiences shape who they are and how they learn. I am inspired by student perseverance and accomplishments given a variety of obstacles.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

I am so lucky to work with seniors who are completing their high school experience and choosing their future. Enjoy the journey!

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

This winter, I’ve been earning my turns by skinning up the mountain before skiing down!

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am a 7th-grade social studies teacher, cross-country coach, and Track and Field Coach at Windham Middle School.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work

When I changed professions and began searching for teaching jobs, a middle school principal told me, "You don't choose middle school, it chooses you." That has always stuck with me as the reason for why I started teaching middle school; it just chooses you! I am continually inspired by my students. Each day is a new adventure where I never know what I am going to hear, see, or say. At the end of the day, I laugh harder than I thought was possible.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

Middle school is a time of incredible growth. It is sometimes messy, sometimes challenging, sometimes crazy, but always meaningful. This is the time to try new things, make mistakes, and keep going!! Growth doesn’t happen without a little discomfort, and that’s okay. The effort and mistakes matter more than perfection. It's how we learn! I encourage students to be curious, be a lifelong learner, and not be afraid to step outside their comfort zone, even if that means coming in last in shot put or the 400. The habits of perseverance, kindness, and hard work that you build now will carry you well beyond middle school.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

An interesting fact about me is that I used to work at Walt Disney World. I worked at the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios when it was MGM! I am still an annual pass holder and try to travel down to WDW as often as possible, even if it's just for a day. Each time I visit, I bring back a magnet for my desk. My students love analyzing the magnets to see if there are any new ones, indicating a weekend trip to Florida!!

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

For the 2025-2026 school year, I am a 6th-grade math teacher at Windham Center School. In addition to the classroom, I love staying connected with students in a variety of ways. I run Homework Club, Ski Club, co-run Intramurals and Floor Hockey, and coach Math Olympiads. I truly love being busy and creating spaces where students can grow, connect, and feel successful both academically and beyond the classroom.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I was drawn to teaching for so many reasons. I had an incredible third-grade teacher who made a lasting impact on me, and later in high school, I had the opportunity to intern with her. That experience really solidified for me that I wanted to make a difference in students’ lives the way she did. Not just in academics, but in helping build confidence and shaping who they are as young people. I have always loved the quick wit and energy of middle schoolers, so 6th grade felt like the perfect fit. I did teach kindergarten for a year when I first started, and I have so much respect for those teachers because, wow, that is a whole different level of amazing!

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

One message I always share with my students and families is that tomorrow is a new day, which means a clean slate. Middle school can feel like a lot with friendships, school, and everything happening outside of school, so I remind my students that it is okay to not have everything figured out. We are all juggling a lot. I also emphasize that we become what we say about ourselves, so I encourage students to speak kindly and positively to themselves in a way that reflects who they want to grow into.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

A fun fact about me is that I love to hike and have completed all of the 4,000-footers in New Hampshire. I also recently signed up for my first half-marathon this October, which I am both excited and a little nervous about! And on a very exciting personal note, I am getting married in Jamaica on April 25th!

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am the school counselor for 3rd and 4th grade at Golden Brook School.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I always knew I wanted to work with children. I started out in school for Early Childhood Education but quickly realized I enjoyed more than just teaching. I love coming to work each day, building relationships with students and their families, and encouraging children to face the day with confidence, courage and positivity. My colleagues at GBS inspire me every day, they put 110% into our school and I am so lucky to work alongside them to help educate the children in our community.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

A message I always share with my students and their families is it is okay to be uncomfortable and still do it! I love seeing a child's excitement after they do something they never thought they could.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

An interesting fact about me is that I went to Golden Brook School too. I enjoy living in Windham with my husband and 4 children. I feel proud to be raising my family here in the community I grew up in.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I'm a Visual Arts teacher at Windham High School, where I teach Video Production, Animation, and Digital Media courses. I also work as the Videographer for the Windham School District.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

Although teaching was not originally what I thought I would be doing, it didn't come as a surprise when I ultimately switched professions. Since high school, I have been fascinated by video production, which led me to pursue a degree in Communications with a concentration in Digital Filmmaking and a career in television. It was during that time that I realized how rewarding it was to teach others about the various ways to showcase their creativity. Through research, conversations with colleagues, and being introduced to a role that would both ease me into education and allow me to continue bringing creative ideas to the table, I knew I had to take that opportunity.

Now, as I near the end of my third year of teaching, there has not been a single day when I have regretted my decision to change course. Being able to share my passion with students has been both a rewarding and engaging experience. My students and their willingness to express themselves in such unique ways are what continue to inspire me and make this a position I value greatly.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

Always leave room for creativity in your life. I strongly believe it’s one of the best ways to better understand yourself and what you’re capable of. When you make space for creativity, it often leads to your best work and the most meaningful growth.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

My first time ever traveling outside of the country was to study abroad in Australia for four months. While I was there, I took some really interesting courses, met incredible people from around the world, and even checked a few things off my bucket list. A few highlights included hiking the Blue Mountains, scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, and skydiving!

What is your role for the 2025–26 school year?
I have the privilege of teaching 7th grade English Language Arts and serving as a team leader at WMS. In addition to teaching reading and writing, I work closely with my team to support students academically and socially, helping to create a positive and consistent learning environment. I also co-facilitate Book Beat with our media specialist, Katy Smith—an extracurricular book club where students come together to talk about books. Lastly, I serve as a mentor to one of our new ELA teachers.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?
I was drawn to this position because of the opportunity to work with middle school students during such an important and transformative time in their lives. What continues to inspire me is building connections with my students and watching them grow in confidence as readers and writers. I enjoy being creative in the classroom and bringing a sense of fun to learning—I’ve been known to help plan a great field trip or Fun Day over the years. I have also served as a cooperating teacher to four student teachers over my 17 years at WMS, and I would love to do it again if the opportunity arises. I find mentoring new teachers and collaborating with colleagues to be incredibly rewarding and energizing.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes—they are an important part of learning and growth. Stay curious, ask questions, and keep trying, even when things feel challenging. For families, your support and encouragement make a tremendous difference in your child’s success.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?
I love to travel, and I am currently planning a trip to Italy, where I’m looking forward to exploring new places, enjoying great food, and experiencing different cultures.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

This is my third year as the Administrative Assistant at Windham Center School, and I truly enjoy being part of this school community. I was first drawn to working in a school environment when my own children were younger, and I had the opportunity to volunteer in their schools. During that time, I saw firsthand the positive impact the adults in our schools have on students in our community, and it motivated me to become a part of that.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

Building positive relationships with students, their families, and our staff is one of the things I think is most important in my role. Seeing our students overcome challenges, build confidence, and realize they can do great things, even if it's hard, is so rewarding. I continue to be inspired by their determination everyday.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

My message to students and families is that I appreciate being part of the same team, working together with kindness and compassion to help our students learn and grow. I am thankful to be part of their journey and look forward to seeing where their education leads them in the future.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

One fun fact about me is that I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling to new countries, learning about their cultures, and of course, trying all the amazing foods along the way!

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am an interventionist at Golden Brook Elementary School. As an interventionist, I have the unique opportunity to work with students in grades K–4. I provide targeted instruction in both reading and math across these grade levels and collaborate closely with each student’s classroom teacher to design and implement instruction that best supports student learning and growth.

Through collaboration and ongoing data collection, I am able to analyze assessment results to identify specific skill areas where students need additional support and provide focused interventions to strengthen those skills. My goal is to build students’ confidence while improving their reading and math abilities so they can be more successful in their classroom learning. I work to ensure students receive consistent support that promotes both academic progress and long-term success.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I enjoy working with classroom teachers and my team as I develop lessons to provide meaningful instruction for my students. Working with the children in small groups is rewarding, as I have the opportunity to witness their academic growth and their enthusiasm for learning. I'm inspired every day as they strive to achieve the academic goals that have been established for them.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

I hope my students know how proud I am of them—not only for the work they do, but also for the respect they show for the learning process. I admire their effort, perseverance, and willingness to grow as learners.

I would also like to thank parents and the entire teaching staff for the teamwork and dedication they demonstrate in helping our children succeed. Working together as a supportive community plays an important role in helping every student reach their full potential.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

An interesting fact about me is that in college, I had the opportunity to study in England for a semester, which allowed me to travel throughout Europe. The experiences I had during that time were educational and fostered my love of learning.

I also love to share that my sister and I are fourth-generation teachers. We enjoy discussing teaching strategies and exploring new techniques in education, which continually inspires me in my work with students.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am incredibly happy to be the HR Director for the Windham School District.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

Both of my children were students (and graduates) of the Windham School District, and I have always held the employees and district in high regard based on our family’s experiences.  For me, inspiration continues to come from the employees.  We do so many great things throughout the district, and it is due to the enormous efforts of all of our staff.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

As Mark Twain said, “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

That quote speaks to me, and I would offer it to anyone trying to determine what they want to do for a career.

Loving what I do allows me to keep motivated to make a difference each and every day.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

My husband and I owned two laundromats at one time.  We sold them but learned a lot along the way, including how to fold a fitted sheet.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am the ELO Assistant at WHS

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I was initially drawn to working in our school district when my girls were young, as I felt the schedule would work well for our family.  I began working as a substitute in 2003, and a year later, I was hired as a grade-level assistant for 2nd grade. I have since worn many hats over the past 23 years, including working in RTI and as a Paraprofessional at GBS and WCS. In 2022, I “stepped up” to the role of ELO Assistant at WHS.  I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of my positions, especially my current one, as I’m fortunate to see former students and interact with them as young adults

I am inspired every day by the students and their emotional and academic growth.  I love interacting with them.  Their enthusiasm is contagious!

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

Never stop believing in yourself! Replace any negative thoughts with “I can do this!” Focus on your own path rather than comparing or measuring yourself against someone else.  Be your own person!

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

I’ve always been an active runner.  I have qualified for the Boston Marathon and have completed several other full and half marathons and triathlons.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am the Lead Nutrition Services Assistant at Windham Middle School.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

As my children got older but were still in school, I started as a substitute with Nutrition Services. I enjoyed the work, and when a position opened at Windham Middle, I went for it. It is the perfect job for parents with school-age children! I enjoy seeing and hearing the students' reactions - good or bad - to the lunches we serve; they can be very expressive! And I like learning about and trying new ideas to get students interested in school lunch and breakfast.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

My team and I love seeing the students and interacting with them every day. We really appreciate any feedback, good or bad, are open to suggestions, and are here to answer any questions. And don't forget you can rate the lunches on Nutrislice!

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

I love being outdoors, especially with my husband, family, friends, and dogs - horseback riding, hiking, camping, kayaking, gardening, snowshoeing - anything outdoors!

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I teach 5/6 grade general music classes, 5th grade band and orchestra classes, direct the 5/6 grade Choir, and serve as Team Leader for the Unified Arts Team.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

Prior to my current position, I taught general music for grades 1-6 and directed chorus and musicals.  Eventually, as our school population grew, I was teaching general music classes at two different schools plus directing chorus.  Soon, I was faced with the decision to either continue teaching general music classes or challenge myself to grow as a music educator.  I made my decision based on the fact that I value continuous learning and growth and strive to model that for my students.  This mindset has led me to my current position at WCS, where I teach upper elementary band and orchestra classes in addition to directing the 5/6 grade choir and teaching general music.

I am continuously inspired by watching my students get excited about performing in front of their peers and large audiences.  This is something many of today's adults would have struggled with at their age.  However, I see today's students approach performance with confidence, enthusiasm, and far less hesitation than in years past.  Their effort, dedication, resilience, and ability to work through challenges as they prepare for their performances inspire me every day!

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

It is important for students to be involved in music because it not only strengthens cognitive skills, builds discipline, and inspires creativity, but also gives students a sense that they belong to something and that they are a valuable member of a group.  Music builds confidence through performance, teaches them to persevere, and provides them with a healthy outlet for expressing emotion.  In music classes, students learn to collaborate and know they are each an important part of the classroom community.

I would like all students and families to know that they can always feel comfortable asking for extra help on an instrument, switching to a different instrument, or communicating openly about any new interests or concerns.  I am here to support your musical journey!

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

I sang and played piano in a wedding band for many years, and I love singing opera arias.

And a family fun fact-my uncle was a songwriter and married Dolly Parton's sister!

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

GBS Assistant Principal

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

The 2025-26 school year marks my return to the Windham School District, as I was an assistant principal at Windham High School from 2015 to 2020. During the five years I was away from Windham, I served in another district in a variety of administrative roles, and, unfortunately, the responsibilities of those positions kept me from working with students and staff on a daily basis. When I decided last spring to seek an assistant principal position, I noticed the job posting for an assistant principal at the Golden Brook School, which I initially did not consider, as my past experience had been in grades 5-12. However, I was eager to return to Windham, and after reaching out to district staff and administrators with whom I maintained contact with since leaving in 2020, I became intrigued by elementary school and this new challenge. Now, after 6 months at GBS, I realize that I not only love being an assistant principal, but I also really enjoy working with elementary school students and staff. It is my daily interactions with our students, staff, and families that inspire me each day.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

In my short time at GBS, I have seen that the staff truly care about our students. While we strive to make school welcoming and fun, it can be challenging and difficult at times, but please know that we are here for you. If you are having trouble or need support, please let us know because we care about every student.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

When I am not at school, I love working on projects around the house, including landscaping and renovations. I also enjoy camping and hanging out with our two cats.

What is your role for the 25-26 school year?

My current role in the district has been the same for the last 6 years, serving as Registrar for Grades K-12.  Prior to that, I began as an Assistant at Windham Middle School, then moved to the high school the year it first opened, working in the Guidance Office.   It was an exciting time to be a part of our high school's opening.  My current role serving Grades K-12 keeps me very busy because it includes managing all student enrollments, handling most of our district's state reporting to the DOE, and overseeing our high school grades for transcript purposes.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I’ve lived in Windham for about 26 years now and was drawn to our school district when my own girls were young, as I thought it would be a good fit for my family.  Originally, I began my working career in the private sector at a large Boston law firm.  What I learned early on was that there is a vast difference between the private sector and public education.  In public education, you serve the students and taxpayers first and foremost.  I like to think I do a good job at that, as I try to answer all parents’ questions as quickly and clearly as possible, understanding what it is like from a parent’s perspective.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

The advice I have for students is to know that EVERYONE, including myself, makes mistakes, but don’t let that define who you are because in the end, it truly will all work out. It always does.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

One interesting “family tree fact” is that my grandfather once played baseball with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig at a charity event in 1928.  My grandfather was quite the baseball player, I have been told.  For me, in addition to being a new “nana”, a role that brings me immense joy, I also like to grow a variety of vegetables in the summer, and I try my hand at making preserves.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am a Mathematics Teacher at Windham High School. I currently teach Geometry, Honors Geometry, and AP Calculus BC. I am also the Traveling Math Team Coach (and the team is having an AMAZING season this year so far!)

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I have always loved mathematics since I was very young. Both my parents are former educators, so I have also always enjoyed learning. Initially, I went to college and earned a BS in Chemical Engineering, but after graduating and getting a job in the field, I decided I enjoyed the topics of mathematics and chemistry, but wasn't so fond of the harsh chemicals that were part of the job. I went back to college and earned a certificate in mathematics teaching at night and on the weekends. After I was hired to teach mathematics at Winnacunnet High School 30 years ago, I went on to earn my Master's in Mathematics Teaching at UNH. Teaching wasn't my initial goal for a career, as both my parents always wanted me to go on to bigger and 'brighter' things with my career, but my mother always told me she knew after my first few years as an undergraduate in engineering that I was going to eventually be a teacher (she just let me find my own path there). After 15 years of teaching and coaching the math team at Winnacunnet, I saw an opening in mathematics teaching at Windham High School, and 15 years ago, I made the move. I enjoy teaching at Windham High School; the students and staff are highly dedicated as well as super hardworking. Go Jaguars!

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

I guess my path to being a teacher would be some advice that I would like to share. Initially, you might think you are interested in pursuing one direction for a career, but never stop learning and always keep growing. Eventually, you will find what you were meant to do in life. Sometimes the path might take some twists and turns, but keep moving, and eventually things will work out.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

As my students and colleagues know, I am a superfan of all things Disney! I might be finally making it out to Disneyland in California this upcoming summer. I always have the best times when I am at Disney World in Florida, and I look forward to traveling there again soon.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am the Mental Health Counselor at the Middle School

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I was initially drawn to this position because I was excited about the opportunity to work closely with students on a daily basis. Before joining the middle school, I worked in a community mental health setting, where I saw students only once a week. I knew I wanted a role that allowed me to support them in a more in-depth and consistent way. Being part of their day-to-day experience allows me to build meaningful connections and help them develop the skills and strategies that promote success in the classroom and beyond.

What continues to inspire me is the privilege of working with middle school students during such a pivotal stage of their development. Each day brings something new, and it is incredibly rewarding to watch students grow—from incoming seventh graders to confident learners ready to transition to high school. The relationships I build with students and the progress I witness in their academic, social, and emotional growth truly motivate me in my work.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families?

The best advice I can offer to middle school students and their families is to embrace the growth that naturally happens during these years. Middle school goes by quickly, and it brings significant social, emotional, and academic changes. Some days will feel challenging, while others will be incredibly rewarding as you see progress and success unfold. This is an important time to build foundational skills, discover personal strengths, and learn how to persevere when things become difficult. Allowing space for mistakes, growth, and resilience helps set students up for confidence and success in the years ahead.

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?
I’m the district's School Resource Officer (SRO). My role is to help keep our schools safe while building positive relationships with students and staff. I also work with each building on safety training and serve as a resource for anything related to school security or student well-being.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?
I was drawn to the SRO role because it gives me the chance to make a difference in a setting that goes beyond typical police work. Being able to connect with students, earn their trust, and support them through challenges is what really motivates me. Every day is different, and I enjoy being part of a team that helps create a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I had been teaching for 11 years before Windham High School opened.  I had recently moved to the community just as the high school was opening.  I was excited about the opportunity to help shape the culture, programs, and traditions of a brand new school.  What continues to inspire me are the students.  Their dedication, resilience, and strong work ethic impress me every day. What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am the Secretary at Windham Middle School.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I was looking to start working full-time after being a SAHM/working part-time, and this fit perfectly. My daughter was a student here when I started, so working the same schedule as her made it very easy to slide back into the workforce. I had run the book fair the year before, had great interactions with the staff and students, and thought it was a good place to work. What inspires me every day is the kids. I love that every day is different, you never know what is going to happen, and it is great to watch them test their wings while they are here.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families as they begin the new year?

Middle School is a time of growth and change; embrace every minute of it!

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

I have hiked a dormant volcano, visited an active volcano, and swam with manta rays!

What is your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am a 6th-grade math teacher.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I have always known I wanted to become a teacher, though I was initially unsure which age group I wanted to work with. During one of my practicums, I was placed in a 6th-grade classroom, and I immediately connected with the students and the curriculum. I remained in that classroom for the rest of the year, and it became clear to me that 6th grade was the right fit for my teaching career.

My journey with math has been a personal one. As a student, I struggled with the subject and often found it challenging. However, during college, I had an exceptional math professor who helped me reframe my struggles as a strength. They encouraged me to use my experiences to better support students who may also find math difficult. Through that perspective, I not only developed a love for teaching math but also for doing math itself. I now strive to help students build a more positive and confident relationship with the subject.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families as they begin the new year?

The advice I would offer to both students and families is this: you are capable of doing hard things. Challenges are a natural part of learning, and with persistence, a positive mindset, and by actively using the resources available to you, success is always within reach.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

A fun fact about me is that I am getting married next June!

What will be your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I am a 4th grade teacher at GBS

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

What initially drew me to my current position was my experience as a long-term substitute in 4th grade. I love the curriculum we teach as well as the team connection we have created! What continues to inspire me every day is seeing those light bulb moments in my students. I strive to make sure every student knows they can be successful in their own way. Not every student has the same path to success, but I want to help each of them get there in any way I can.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families as they begin the new year?

As we start the new year, I want to remind students and families to believe in their own path. Every step forward counts, even if it looks different from others. Hold yourself accountable, work hard, don't be afraid to ask for help and be kind to yourself!

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

One fun fact about myself is I love to explore the outdoors! I am trying to travel to all 63 US National Parks! So far I have been to 11. Only 52 more to go!

What will be your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I’ll continue serving as the Systems Administrator for the Windham School District, overseeing the deployment, management, and support of Apple devices across our schools.

My focus this year is on streamlining workflows and ensuring our technology runs smoothly so teachers and students can focus on learning, not troubleshooting.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I’ve always been fascinated by how Apple technology can simplify complex systems and empower people to do their best work. What continues to inspire me is seeing how the right tools can make a real difference, whether it’s helping a teacher integrate iPads into the classroom or supporting a student who’s just discovering what technology can help them create.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families as they begin the new year?

Embrace curiosity! Technology is constantly evolving, and every challenge is an opportunity to learn something new. Don’t be afraid to explore, ask questions, and make mistakes; it’s all part of growth.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

Believe it or not, I’m also a pitmaster! I love cooking in general, but there’s something special about the art of slow-cooked meats and sharing those meals with friends and family. It takes time and patience, but I always say barbecue is a true labor of love.

What will your role be for the 2025–26 school year?

I will be teaching 8th-grade mathematics, coaching volleyball and golf, and serving as the Ski Club coordinator. In past years, I have also coached baseball and basketball, experiences that continue to shape my approach to coaching and mentoring students.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I have always loved helping others realize what they are capable of. Early in my career, I had the privilege of learning from some incredible mentors, especially Mrs. Doughty, who is now at the high school, who taught me how to guide students through challenges and instill in them the importance of perseverance. I am also fortunate to have the support of my principal, Mrs. Morrow, and assistant principal, Mr. Gratton, who continually encourage me to grow as an educator and leader. That combination of mentorship and support continues to inspire my work every day.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families as they begin the new year?

Take risks, welcome constructive feedback, and never be afraid to ask for help. Growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones and learn from the process.

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

Sports are a big part of my life. I coached a baseball team that won three championships in a row and a volleyball team that has won back-to-back championships the past two years.

What will be your role for the 2025-26 school year?

I serve as the Library Media Specialist and grade 5 STEAM Teacher at Center School.

What initially drew you to your current position, and what continues to inspire you in your work?

I have always enjoyed working with information, with students, and with hands-on science and engineering activities. When a library position opened up in Windham 19 years ago, I was excited to return to my hometown to work where education and literacy are well-supported. I am inspired by seeing readers get excited about good books, as well as seeing students become independent thinkers and users of information. I also enjoy seeing students’ creativity expressed through their STEAM projects.

What message or advice would you like to share with students and their families as they begin the new year?

If you’re having trouble finding reading material that you enjoy, I suggest trying out a variety of formats, genres, and authors. Maybe you’ll prefer audiobooks or ebooks (found on our Sora platform or Nesmith Library’s Libby), nonfiction, graphic novels, or magazines. I encourage parents to help their children in the selection process, finding books that match their values and interests. Links to our library catalog, Sora, and research databases can be found at my Schoology page. We have a multitude of great reading choices!

What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself?

I played trumpet in the Center School band as a student, but now I prefer to play the guitar or piano.
