It is that time of the year when we should all begin to prepare for the anticipation of winter weather. Below are some additional resources to make sure that you are receiving the best communication possible from the school district.
School Closure Information
As part of the 2021-24 MOU, the district will permit a maximum of 2 snow/weather/emergency days. Any day thereafter, teachers will provide remote learning via Zoom so that no more than 2 days will be added to the school year calendar. It is understood that Zoom snow days must satisfy the 80% student participation rate to qualify as a “school day” when calculating the required length of the district’s school year.
School Closure Communications Tools
The Windham School District uses SchoolMessenger Solutions as our provider for parent notifications. SchoolMessenger offers a variety of communication options to utilize when sending messages regarding attendance calls for unreported absences, emergencies, school closings, and delays, newsletters, school announcements, athletic updates, and other types of information.
Text Messaging Options
All parents will automatically receive emails however, in order to receive a text message, you must initially opt-in using your mobile device to receive text notifications. Please download the flyer for directions on how to opt-in to receive text notifications.

Bus Tracking App
The FirstView® mobile app helps you to keep track of school buses going to and from school each day. FirstView tracks your child’s bus on their routes and allows you to set up a customizable geofence around your pick-up/drop-off location, so you can be alerted when the bus is close.
